Peter Cumberlidge fund established to help young cancer sufferers through sailing

Jane Cumberlidge writes:

"My husband, Peter Cumberlidge, died of cancer at the end of July. He was elected to the Club in 1987. His sister and I gave a lot of consideration to how he might be remembered and decided to create a fund as part of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust which helps young people recovering from cancer to regain confidence through sailing. I have set up a web page on Just Giving and wondered if you could put something on the RCC website so members know it is there if they wish to contribute.

At Peter's funeral on 19 August the retiring collection came to over £1400 and there is another £370 on the site at the moment. I am hoping this will be an ongoing project and I have set an initial target at £5000, so that young people will be helped over many years."
